Friday Introductions // 1

SkylarApril 17, 2015

Hallelujah it’s FriYAY!!!! Yes, I truly am excited about Friday being here. I’m over this week.

Instead of using the #fridayintroductions hashtag on Instagram, I’m turning it into a blog post. Since this is my first real week back blogging, I feel like I may need to reintroduce myself, especially to anyone who may be a new reader. My about me page needs to be updated as well as my sidebar photo, but that’s a task for another day.

So here it goes…

Oh…hey.

//I’m Skylar.

//I’m a 22 year old high school broadcast journalism teacher.

//I often get mistaken for being a high school student.

//I live in New Mexico. No, not Mexico. NEW Mexico. In the United States.

//I grew up on my family’s farm.

//I graduated college in December and have been teaching for almost 4 full months.

//The post-grad struggle is real. Even though I have a job, this in-between stage is weird.

//I’m an avid CrossFitter. You can say I’m addicted to it and I’ll fully admit it.

//I’m quiet, awkward, and tenderhearted.

//My ultimate dream job is being a full-time blogger and photographer. There is not a day I don’t think about that.

//I love breaking out Ol’ Nik (my Nikon camera) and going out to take pictures.

//I tried Paleo for two weeks and loved what it did for my body, but not for my mind. I need bread, peanut butter, and chocolate in my life.

//If you want to know how I feel about you hand me a pen and a paper. I can write it out, but saying it verbally doesn’t happen as smoothly. Ask my boyfriend.

//Oh, the pen you hand me has to be black. It really irks me to write in any other color.

//If you ever bring a frog around me I will scream out of fear, then run for my life, and say a few bad words.

//I grew up reading Nancy Drew books and thought I was going to be a girl detective. Evidently didn’t pursue that.

//It’s rare for me to ever get mad, but when I do it’s either because I’m getting super hungry or playing sports.

So hopefully I didn’t scare you away and you still want to read my blog after that little intro. Now I’m off to a Friday of school then a weekend away with my mom and sister to see Beth Moore (a Christian speaker)!

Tell me something I don’t know about you!

    I’m the same way with writing what I want to say vs actually saying it. For some reason when I want to say what I feel I can’t find words that don’t sound silly to come out of my mouth but when I write it, it works much better.

      Ugh it’s soooo frustrating when I can’t explain how I feel, but writing it out does some good for my soul.

    I’m kinda afraid of frogs too, but especially lizards! I just moved from Florida to Oregon and one thing I love about Oregon is no lizards! Ha! I’m so glad we have met through this blogging world. Love following you!

    The last two I can so relate to both of them! I was addicted to Nancy Drew books in elementary school. & hangry is a real thing. I have to keep a snack in my bag at all times just in case.

    I love these fun facts about you! Go you for being so committed to Cross fit! My sister used to do it and loved it. For health reasons she had to stop.

    I love your idea of making this a blog post instead of an instagram post! I have read the instagram post, but have never joined in! I might have to!

      I would rather do a Friday introduction blog post than post that long of a caption on my Instagram. Next, maybe I’ll try the Instagram version instead though.
