Fall Favorites
It’s finally beginning to feel a lot like fall over here in New Mexico. I actually have to wear a cardigan in the mornings when I’m headed to school now since it’s a little chilly. To celebrate the fall season I’d like to share some of my fall favorites.
Favorite Outfit
I’m in love with my plaid shirt and gold watch I got from Target paired with my black American Eagle skinny jeans.
Favorite Book & Nail Polish
Divergent. I finally finished it and am about halfway done with Insurgent. Lately I’ve chosen to read before bed rather than watch Netflix. That’s how good these books are. As far as my nail polish goes, I’m all about dark colored nail polish during fall and winter. This is a dark wine color that sometimes almost looks deep brown, but really is dark maroon.
Favorite Shoes
I’m in love with these Guess boots I found at Marshalls. I wear a size 9 and both my mom and sister agreed that they make my feet look smaller. If you have big feet you will understand why that’s exciting to hear.
Favorite Workout
This month in CrossFit has been pretty good for me. I got a 90# PR on power cleans. I’ve been so close to getting a kipping pull-up all month and I finally got there on Thursday! I’m a little rough at connecting them so I can only do 1 or 2 at a time, but I’m excited. Unfortunately, with my stress fracture I’m going to take it easy on things that put pressure on my feet so I’ll be stepping back from CrossFit for awhile and probably do more yoga.
Favorite Food
Hemp Hearts Energy Balls. These keep me full throughout the school day and are an easy healthy snack to grab.
Favorite scripture
This is the verse I used on Wednesday’s blog post about patience as I question what is my future after December.
Show me the right path, O Lord; point out the road for me to follow. Lead me by your truth and teach me for you are the God who saves me. All day long I put my hope in you. Psalm 25:4-5
Favorite Song
My sister may be the only person who knows this due to the sounds creeping through my bedroom door, but I like to listen to indie music when I get ready in the morning. I’d call it indie folk music. It just does it for me. It’s calming. I’m an odd one I know.
I had no idea the people in Run River North were from Korea. I never would have guessed that just listening to them. They are just awesome and inspirational for making their dreams come true here in America.
Favorite TV Show & Movie
Though I have recently begun Orange is the New Black, Mad Men is the reigning favorite in my life. I just finished season 5 and am beginning season 6. Don Draper is a smooth, charming cat that I can’t get enough of.
Dracula Untold movie was surprisingly good! It was suspenseful and kept me entertained the entire time. Occasionally I enjoy dark movies like that.
Favorite View
I couldn’t get enough of all the trees and colors changing color when I was in Missouri earlier in October. It was beautiful. I can’t imagine how much things have changed by now!
Favorite Trip
My trip in early October has to be one of my favorite parts of this fall. Of course it consisted of getting to see one of my favorite people in the world which is the main reason it’s my favorite trip. I also got to see the St Louis Arch so that was a neat thing to check-off my travel/sight-seeing list.
That’s it for my fall favorites today. November is going to fly by and I’m looking forward to going home and seeing my family for Thanksgiving in a few weeks! Then fall will dwindle away and the Christmas season will begin!
What are some of your fall favorites?

O.M.G!!! I absolutely love the Divergent series! I’ve read Divergent and Insurgent but I still need to read Allegiant. I would say my fall favorite right now would have to be the road trip that I just got back from last week. It was so full of surprises, some of which were not very good surprises, but we still had a blast.

You know, I actually really enjoyed the Dracula Untold movie as well. I was pleasantly surprised. I’m about halfway through the 3rd book of the Divergent series, it’s addicting! Another series I recommend if you haven’t read them yet (and they’re shorter as well and highly addicting as well) is the Selection series. So good!
