Currently// January
Today I’m linking up with In Residence and Dearest Love for the January edition of Currently. I’ve been a little absent from the blog world and you’ll understand why…
Planning// I haven’t announced this on my blog yet, but I started my first teaching job this Monday. I’m the new broadcast journalism teacher at a local high school!! So I’ve been planning my brains out and I still have so much more to plan. Along with setting up and cleaning out my room, I’ve been very busy!
Hoping// I’m hoping to get my new routine for my job figured out once students start back on Thursday. That means I’m hoping blogging and working out stay consistent in my new routine.
Baking// Does Mac & Cheese count as baking? What about chicken nuggets? The only thing I truly have “baked” lately is some broccoli and sweet potatoes for my lunch this week and that’s more considered as “roasting.”
Wearing// Yoga Pants + Hoodie= Comfiest Clothes Ever. That right there is my firm belief. I could wear that every day. Too bad I chose a career that requires you to dress professionally every day.
Resolving// What should I wear Thursday when students start back to school? That’s a big decision that cannot be taken lightly. I don’t want to look too uptight, but I also don’t want to look too fun. I have to put on the “I’m a mean, hard teacher” persona. I can’t let them think I’m actually a nice person too soon.
Choose one category from above and tell me what you are currently….

Congrats on the new job! Broadcast journalism sounds like a fun thing to teach. Hope you get the outfit figured out – I always think something professional like a pencil skirt combined with something with a little pattern/personality (like a striped top) makes for a good, approachable combination… Thanks for linking up!

Good Luck, Sis! I have all the faith in you for you know to be strict the first two weeks then lighten up. Having such a sweet personality might make it even harder for you, but the students will realize your love for teaching! Thinking of you tomorrow for I have been through that challenge more than one and survived. Have a blessed day!

I would definitely recommend going with something comfortable on your first day…maybe some comfy slacks and a nice top with flats. You will be nervous and stressed and the LAST thing you want to worry about is readjusting your wardrobe! Good luck, i’m sure those students will love you no matter what you’re wearing! 🙂
I love the idea behind this post.
I’m currently wearing a tank top and shorts…in January! I live in Florida so that may be why, but it’s a gorgeous day here!

You are speaking so many true words, and words from my heart in this post! haha
Yes to yoga pants, yes to the cooking scenarios, and yes to figuring out your new position! Congrats on your job! I know the first day with your students is going to be good. Broadcast Journalism sounds fun and plus, high schoolers are great. Good luck!

Congratulations on the job! I think you definitely have to go in wearing clothes that say “Don’t mess with me, but I’m awesome.”
Lately, I have been wearing yoga pants and basically any shirt I can find. Lazy days!

Congrats on your new job! That’s really exciting! I’m a teacher, too, so I know what you mean about not wanting to come across too nice at the beginning. You’ve gotta show ’em who’s boss, then you can lighten up once they know your expectations. 🙂
Thanks for linking up!!!

Congrats on the job! What ever you decided to wear will be perfect. I’m working towards being an elementary teacher. My graduation day is December 2016! It’s getting closer!
