Catching Up During Easter Weekend

SkylarApril 19, 2014

So I haven’t done a blog post since last Friday and I have some catching up to do.

1. First things first, if you haven’t seen my Instagram post or are not friends with me on Facebook I have some sad news. Our family chocolate lab that I got when I was 7 passed away on Friday. Because she is 15 years old the past couple of years have been rough for her. She was basically an elderly dog and of course there comes a time where it would be best for them to be put down.

Throughout my time at college I knew that someday I would come home and Holly wouldn’t be here. Friday was that day. It’s always sad to lose a family dog. When they grow up with you they are a vital part of the family. Holly was definitely the best dog that we’ve ever had and we will miss her a lot. We have so many fond memories of Holly and no other dog will ever compare to her. I didn’t realize how sad another dog can be when their best friend is no longer there. Marley, our yellow lab, is definitely missing Holly. My words will never do Holly justice. I’m sad that she’s gone. Thankful for the memories I have of her. And I’m happy that she’s in a better place now. Anyways, now to a brighter note.

2. Last weekend was Greek Olympics and we did great!

Overall my sorority did an amazing job at Greek Olympics! I’m sad it was my last, but I’m glad we got it over with!

3. This past week was stressful with school and I’m glad it’s over. A Shakespeare paper caused a lot of stress and time this past week.

I got in a two really good workouts during weight lifting class this week. I did this workout from Julie at PBFingers and I could definitely feel it afterwards!

And I got in a good leg day workout on Wednesday that left me sore!

4. I love my friends! I know y’all are probably tired of hearing how much I adore my friends, but oh well. This picture is from a night out after Greek Olympics.

5. I got breakfast fuel at Starbucks for my trip home yesterday. Iced coffee and I brought my own peanut butter for a bagel. Ridiculous I know.

I love being home and waking up in my own bed. I also love when my Mom makes pancakes for breakfast. These pancakes were nice and fluffy!

6. “But he was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his wounds we are healed.” Isaiah 53:5

Incredibly grateful to have a Savior who came and died for MY SINS  and the sins of the world. He died and rose and He will be coming back someday! Have a great Easter weekend everyone!!

Aw, I’m sorry about your dog :[ We had to do the same for our spaniel a couple of years ago because she had arthritis and her bowels were failing :[ she was suffering too much :[ Her name was actually Holly too. What a freaky coincidence. It sounds like you’ve had a good time though! Especially Starbucks. Can you believe that I’ve never been to one before? It is Sunday here so I’m just relaxing with friends, subtly stealing my friends jumper [IT IS SO CUDDLY] and eating a bunch of food…I imagine. Not a heck of a lot! Haha. Hope you’re enjoying yourself :]

I’m so sorry about your pup. Kyle’s family had to put down their 15 year old dog, Shadow, a few months ago as well. It’s tough, but when dogs get that old basic things like walking and stairs get so hard and painful for them. Sending you lots of love <3.

You look gorgeous in your post-greek olympics night out! I love getting ready with my girls :).

    Happy Easter!
